John "Jack"'s Story
DORCHESTER, MA - John "Jack" W. Bone of Dorchester, age 83, died peacefully at home on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Jack grew up in Windham, N.H., and graduated from Woodbury High School in Salem, N.H. He is also a graduate of the University of New Hampshire where he earned a bachelors and masters degree in Education. He attended St. George's Methodist Church in Methuen, Mass., where he played the organ for a number of years. Jack was employed as a teacher in Epping, Londonderry, and Windham, N.H. He was a principal in Londonderry, N.H., and Westford, Mass., until he retired. Jack followed in the footsteps of his father, becoming a member of the Masonic Temple in Methuen, Mass. He loved to travel and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in his home. His passion was restoring and selling antiques. He owned his own antique shop in Boston for many years. Beloved son of the late Wilfred and Gladys (Calvert) Bone, Jack was predeceased by his sister, Joanne (Bone) and Anthony and Norman Bone. Jack is survived by his brother, Richard Bone of Sarasota, Fla.; his longtime friend, Michael Riendeau; his brother-in-law, Paul Anthony; his sister-in-law, Patricia Bone; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
