John (Jack) F.'s Story

John (Jack) F. Coady, 57, of Haverhill died peacefully on September 17, 2017, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House. Jack fought a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Methuen, Mass., on January 1, 1960 to the late John F. and Margaret (Connelly) Coady. Jack grew up in North Andover and Seabrook Beach during the summer. He attended St. Michael’s Grammar School, Austin Prep and the Lawrence Vo-Tech Post Graduate School. In 1976, Jack joined the family business, Coady’s Garage and Towing, where he was the co-owner and vice president. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Towing and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Portsmouth Country Club and former member of the Haverhill Country Club and Crystal Springs Golf Course. He also loved his annual trip to Aruba and summers on Seabrook Beach. He loved his dogs and missed them greatly when they passed.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Joyce (Keating) Coady of Haverhill; his daughter, Samantha Stephen of Amesbury; his brother and business partner, Frank Coady of Seabrook, N.H.; his sister, Carol Breen and husband, David of North Andover; his sister, Nancy Coady of Tamarac, Fla.; his brother, Timothy Coady of Amesbury; his sister-in-law, Judith Anderson of Boothbay Harbor, Maine and his godson, Joe Callahan; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Danny Coady of North Andover; his beloved sister, Kathy Callahan and husband, Kevin of Newburyport; and his brother-in-law, Gary Anderson of Booth Bay Harbor, Maine.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church in North Andover.
It was Jack’s specific request that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in his memory to the Jimmy Fund, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168 or to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Lawrence, MA 01843.
