John M.'s Story
HAVERHILL - John M. "Jack" "Rip" Vencis, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Anthony and Rose (Warchol) Vencis. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he attended Haverhill Trade School, a graduate of Class of 1963. He was employed at Lucent Technologies for many years and attended Boston University during his employment. Jack owned and operated the Currier Tavern in Haverhill and worked at the local CVS. He enjoyed fishing, deep sea and fishing at the beach in Hampton. Jack liked to hunt with his friends in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts as well as a good game of golf. Mostly, he loved to spend time with his family.
Jack is survived by his children, Amanda Vencis and her fiance, Michael Dipietro of Haverhill, Ashlee Vencis and Jesse Schopp of Jacksonville, N.C., Adam Vencis of Haverhill; a sister, Suzanne Dooley of Bradford; three grandchildren, Addison and Jackson Vencis and Maxx Dipietro; his former wife, Donna (Woodland) Vencis; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Vencis and sister, Jeannette Fraser.
