Alexandria, NH - John J. Sacco, 81, of Alexandria, NH, formerly of Chester, NH and long time resident of Andover, Mass., passed away December 11, 2018 after a period of declining health.
He was born on April 25, 1937 in Lawrence, Mass where he graduated from Lawrence High School and attended Newbury College. He served his country in the US Coast Guard.
He was married to Phyllis (Whitehead) Sacco for 54 years and was a barber in Lawrence for 56 years. He also was a member of St. Patrick's Church.
John was an avid fly fisherman and loved living in New England. He was always a familiar sight at his children's and grandchildren's events. He loved sports, especially the NE Patriots and the Red Sox. Anybody who visited the barbershop would get an earful of all the current events regarding sports, politics and updates on family and friends.
He was predeceased by his son Gregory Sacco of Andover, Mass.
Besides his wife Phyllis, he is survived by children, Kim Aiello and husband Jack of Methuen, Mass, Paula Carter and husband, Steve Garon of Alexandria, NH, Scott Miller and wife Bonnie of Andover, Mass and Mark Sacco of Londonderry, NH. He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Miller, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no services at this time. Any sympathies may be in the form of donations to the American Kidney Fund (www.kidneyfund.org).
