Joseph G.'s Story
Joseph G. Rheaume, age 87, of Haverhill, Mass., died peacefully Sunday at the High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, Mass.
Joe was born in Haverhill, Mass., where he grew up, was educated, and was a lifelong resident. He attended seminary for six years at St. Johns and got a degree in Philosophy. He later graduated from Merrimack College, where he received his degree in accounting. Joe retired from Western Electric in North Andover, Mass., where he worked for 34 years as an accountant. He was a member of St. James Parish in Haverhill. He loved books and was an avid reader. He volunteered countless hours at the Haverhill Public Library.
Joe was the son of the late Napoleon and Agnes (Murphy) Rheaume. He was predeceased by his sisters, Agnes DiPietro, Helen Catineau, and Geraldine Rheaume.
He is survived by his sister, Rose Evans of California; nieces and nephews, Tom and David DiPietro, Marie Guay, Paul and Mark Catineau, and Laura Price; several grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 17, at 11 a.m. at St. James Parish, Haverhill, MA. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill, Mass. There are no calling hours.
The Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH, has care of Joe’s arrangements.
