Kathryn H. Woods, 70, of Merrimack, N.H., died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Methuen, Mass., on Jan. 22, 1947, a daughter of the late Herbert J. Herold Sr. and Evelyn (Fraser) Herold.
Kathryn was a longtime resident of Merrimack and was a teacher for the Nashua (NH) School District for 32 years. She was a graduate of Woodbury School in Salem, N.H., and received her teaching degree from Keene State College.
She loved cooking, Big Island Pond, Aruba, and after retirement, spending time with her family and friends.
Members of her family include her husband of 45 years, Lon S. Woods of Merrimack; two daughters, Amy Woods and her husband, Joshua Sirois, and Ashleigh Lowe and her husband, Chris; two grandchildren, Alexander Lowe and Simon Sirois; a brother, Herbert Herold Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial calling hours will be held in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH, on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Autism Speaks, 85 Devonshire St., 9th Floor, Boston, MA 02109.
