Bradford - Kelvin O. "Kelly" Brooks, 89, of Bradford, died Friday, April 12, at his home, surrounded by his family, after a period of declining health.
Kelly was born in Haverhill, May 24, 1929, son of the late Phillips F. and Ruth (Picard) Brooks. He was a 1947 graduate of Haverhill High School.
He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1947-1951 aboard the USS Worcester. Later Kelly retired from Raytheon Corp. after more than 35 years as an Electronics Engineer.
Kelly enjoyed hiking the White Mountains; both riding and teaching horseback; and photography. He was a longtime member of the Kenoza Camera Club. Kelly won many awards over the years for his photography. He was also an active member of the Universalist Unitarian Church, Haverhill, and enjoyed being part of the choir.
Kelly leaves behind his beloved wife, Helga (Klar) Brooks of Bradford, eight children; Sue Folsom and her husband Brian of Chester, N.H., Lynn Trenholm of Laconia, N.H., Kathy Beard of Ashland, N.H., Kelly Simpson and her husband Mark of Portsmouth, N.H., Allen Brooks and his wife Courtney of Hopkinton, N.H., Roland Brooks of Nashua, N.H., Ken Brooks of Hollis, N.H., and Cindy Tucker and her husband Mark of Hollis, N.H.; a brother, Phillips Brooks of Fayetteville, N.C., 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kelly was predeceased by his siblings, Beverly A. (Brooks) Michitson, Norman E. Brooks and David G. Brooks.

As per Kelly's request, funeral services will be private and held at the family's convenience. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill & Bradford.
