Kevin J. Harty, 61, of Merrimack, N.H., beloved husband of Patricia (Sullivan) Harty formerly of Billerica, died Monday Dec. 11, 2017 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born on June 21, 1956 a son of Barbara (Dewhurst) Harty of Haverhill, and the late William Harty. Kevin was raised, and educated in Haverhill. He also received a Bachelor's Degree in computer science from WPI. Before retirement, he was employed at ComputerVision in Bedford where he met his wife. He also worked at many high tech companies including Digital Equipment Corp as a software engineer. Kevin was a member of Horseshoe Fish & Game Club in Merrimack, and Nashua Fish & Game. He loved bird hunting, fishing and hiking. Kevin was an avid motorcycle rider, and enjoyed his dogs and cats, and cooking. He also loved spending time at the beach and accompanying his wife to Disney. Kevin is pre-deceased by a brother, Stephen Harty and his two hunting dogs, Bucky and Skip. In addition to his wife of 36 years and mother and John Rodriguez of Haverhill, members of his family include a brother Shawn Harty and his wife, Kathleen of Andover; three sisters, Alice Donovan and her husband, Daniel of Bradford, Jocelyn Campbell and her husband William Spallina of Little Nahant, MA and Sara Przybylek and her husband David of Shrewsbury, MA. He also leaves his father-in-law, Leonard Sullivan of Billerica and brothers-in-laws, Leonard Sullivan and wife, Robin of Methuen; James Sullivan of Billerica; and Brian Sullivan and his husband Khoi of San Francisco; and many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, N.H. on Friday Dec. 15, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow in the Funeral Home at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack. In lieu of flowers family requests memorial contributions to the Salvation Army. The family would also like to extend a thank you to all those at the Community Hospice House.
