SALEM, NH- Leo Steven Diantgikis, age 82, of Salem, NH, formerly of Lynn, died peacefully, with his family at his side, at Lawrence General Hospital, on Thursday February 8, 2018. He was the husband of Joanne (Venesanakos) Diantgikis, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Karaey Greece, he was the son of the late Soterios and Venetia (Kontos) Diantgikis. He came to the United States at the age of 15 and lived In Danvers and Lynn before moving to Salem, NH 53 years ago.
Leo had worked for 35 years as the General Sales Manager for Archway Cookies until his retirement in 1997.
A member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, he was also a member of the Masons, and the Eastern Star. He was a member and former President of the Salem, NH Lions Club and a former President of the Arachova Society.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Steven Diantgikis and his wife, Laura, and Venessa Diantgikis-Schneider and her husband, Robert, all of Salem, NH, three grandchildren, Nicholas, Leo, and Taylor, also of Salem, NH; two brothers: Peter Diantgikis and his wife, Vera and James Diantgikis and his wife, Star, all of Lynn, and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Pipitsa Matalas, Mary Kakridas, and George Diantgikis.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. George Greek Orthodox Church 54 South Common St., Lynn. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Route 129), Lynn.
