BRADFORD - Lillian M. Judy (Demetrakopoulos) Petrakis, 76, of Bradford, died Monday morning, January 8, at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center, Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill, January 4, 1942, daughter of the late James and Rena (Avins) Demetrakopoulos and was educated in the Haverhill school system.
Judy was employed at the former Colonial Shoe, New England Shoe Trimming, Wang Labs and for a period of time at Western Electric / AT&T in No. Andover.
A lifelong member of Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill, she was very involved with the Caring and Sharing program there, sang in the church chorus as well as volunteering for the Greek festivals. Judy also enjoyed playing bingo.
She was the wife of the late Peter Pepper Petrakis who died in 1974 and her survivors include a son; Michael J. Petrakis of Bradford, a sister, Charlene L. Anderson of Dover, NH, a brother, Joseph Joey McPherson of Haverhill, a niece; Danielle Grover of FL, and a nephew; Philip Anderson of Hampton, NH. She was also the sister of the late Ethel M. Grover.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Thursday, Jan. 11th from 4-7 PM at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Her Funeral will be held on Friday, Jan. 12th beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in Holy Apostles Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154-156 Winter St., Haverhill. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
