Lorraine M. (German)'s Story
Lorraine M. (German) Lang, 88, a resident of Plaistow since 1962, died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, with her family by her side.
Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, daughter of the late Frank and Jane (Amirault) German, she attended Saint Joseph Grammar School and Haverhill High School. As a young woman she was employed in the local shoe industry where she met the love of her life, Robert K. Lang, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage until his death in 2007.
Mrs. Lang, took great pride in being a housewife and homemaker to her husband and five children and maintained a warm and loving home for them. She was a former member of Holy Angels Parish of Plaistow and presently attended the Rockingham Church in Plaistow.
An avid Red Sox fan, she enjoyed both crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing 45’s and cribbage, trips to the beach and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert K. Lang, Jr. and Julie Lang of Plaistow with whom she made her home, four daughters, and sons-in-law, Karen M. and Richard Cartier of Manchester, Conn., Debra J. and Joseph Bryant of Lawrence, Cheryl A. Couture of Methuen, and Rebecca J. and Robert Ickes, of Blandon, Pa.; a brother, Robert German of Atkinson; two sisters, Dorothy Goulet, and Helen Busa, both of Bradford, also 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Nurse Practitioner Valerie Nydam of Lawrence General Hospital and the staff of High Pointe Hospice House for the special care and comfort provided to Mrs. Lang and her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Lang’s Life Celebration to be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral home, 116 Main St., Plaistow. Her funeral service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow in Plaistow Cemetery.
