LAWRENCE, MA - Mr. Luis A. Caratini Jr., 84, of Lawrence passed away on February 24, at the Royal Woodmill Nursing Home. Born in Puerto Rico, Mr. Caratini had been an area resident for over 40 years. He worked as a mechanic before his retirement. Mr. Caratini served honorably in the U.S. Air Force, a fire fighter. Mr. Caratini was the widower of Andrea (Esquilin) Caratini and the father of the late Jose Antonio Caratini. He is survived by one daughter, Cindy Quinunes; one son, Luis Caratini III; two sisters, Hilda Hernandez, and Elia Caratini; and one brother, Rigoberto Caratini. There are seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and one great-great grandson, one sister-in-law Lydia Caratini, as well several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, March 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd., Dracut, MA 01826. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Church in Lawrence on Friday, March, 2, at 10 a.m., burial will follow with military honors in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in the Veteran Section.
