Margaret A. (Tatro) Durst MEthuen - Margaret A. Durst (née Tatro), age 91, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2019. Her husband of 22 years, Henry Durst, died two days later on Friday, January 11, 2019. New residents at Brightview Assisted Living in North Andover, Peg and Henry spent most of their married lives in the Methuen/Haverhill area.
Peg is survived by her three children Richard, Judy, Doreen; their spouses; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Allen, her brother John, and her sister Phyllis Simone.
Peg was born in Melrose, MA on September 24, 1927 to John Tatro and Gertrude (Allicon) Tatro. Peg loved ice skating with her young family at a local pond. She was a talented seamstress and made clothes for her daughters when they were young and stitched many beautiful quilts. She loved her home on Great Diamond Island where she tended her vegetable garden, watched local boat traffic from her front porch and entertained her family. Peg loved to travel. Her favorite excursion was a trip to Russia with Henry, Phyllis and Bill Simone, and Gary and Marie Simone. Peg found the most joy in helping others and being surrounded by her family.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, January 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer Street, Haverhill. A celebration of her life will follow at 4:15 pm at the funeral home.

Peg was an amazing person. She was full of life and had a quiet witted sense of humor. We are so thankful she was in our lives and already miss her dearly. Most of all we are eternally grateful for the love she shared her life with Gramps
