Marilyn's Story

GARDNER, MA - Marilyn passed peacefully early on February 9, in Brigham and Woman's hospital with her children by her side. She was 74.
Beloved mother, grandmother, and wife for over 50 years.
Born in Lawrence, Mass., to the late Alfred and Angelina (Cacciola) Sapienza.
Marilyn is survived by four children, Douglas, and his wife, Nicole; Martin, and daughter, Shealyn; Kevin, and Stephanie McInnis, her husband, Shawn; and their children, Alyssa and Aiden.
Marilyn was well known in the Gardner-Fitchburg area for over 40 years. She also belonged to many organizations in the area.
Marilyn thrived on being with her friends and family. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, gallivanting with her girlfriends, summers at Hampton Beach, and especially her grandchildren.
A funeral Mass in celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at St. Lucy's Church at 254 Merrimack St. Methuen, MA, on February 19, at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn's memory can be made to Brigham and Women's Hospital, Development Office, 116 Huntington Ave., 3rd floor, Boston, MA 02116. The website also has a form.
Marilyn's body is being donated as an anatomical gift to UMass Medical Center to help train others in the medical profession.
