Mark married his beloved wife on August 27, 1982, one of the happiest days of his life.
Mark was born in Lawrence, Mass., March 15, 1938, and was one of five children born to the late Roland Albert and Annette Aurora Blanchette. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, and received his associates degree from Northeastern University in Boston.
He was brother to the late Roland John (Jack) Blanchette of Nashua, N.H., and the late David Blanchette of Lawrence, as well as his younger brothers, Peter Blanchette and his wife, Joyce of Salisbury, Mass., and Paul Blanchette and his wife, Maureen of Roseville, Calif. Mark is also survived by his step-children, Robert Harriman of Victorville, Calif., Richard Harriman of Hesperia, Calif., and Annette Martin of San Dimas, Calif.; as well as 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mark served his country in the Massachusetts National Guard and spent 10 years as a Brother of the Carmelites Order serving and teaching in Cusco, Peru, and later teaching in Los Angeles, Calif. He adored all his grand and great-grandchildren and also loved collecting antique pictures and prints by Maxfield Parish, eventually opening his own antique store.
