BEDFORD, NH - Mary N. (Bartolotta) Devine, 89, formerly of Lawrence, Methuen, and Salem, N.H. passed away on December 21, 2017, at the Bedford Hills Rehabilitation Center in Bedford, N.H.
Mary was born on June 12, 1928, to her hardworking parents, Salvatore and Nancy (Mirabella) Bartolotta, in Lawrence, Mass. Raised and educated in Methuen. She graduated with the Class of 1946 from the Edward F. Searles High School. Mary married her love of her life, Bernard Devine, on June 11, 1950. She and her husband settled in Salem, N.H., to raise their family. Mary worked over 15 years until her retirement as the cafeteria manager for the Woodbury School. A devoted lifelong Catholic, she was a member of the Ladies Italian Lodge, enjoyed playing cards, the occasional trip to Foxwoods, and playing bingo. Mary was a very warm and loving wife and mother. She touched many different lives in many different circles and she will be fondly cherished, loved and missed.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Maryellen L. St. Laurent and her wife, Annette Laurent of Southern Pines, N.C. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Joshua St. Laurent and Nicole Devine; daughter-in-law, Linda Spencer Devine Simmons; and her four great-grandchildren. Mary was the cherished sister to Vinny Cuomo of Salem, N.H., and Joseph Bartolotta of North Andover, Mass. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bernard E. Devine; her son, Bernard M. Devine; and her granddaughter, Colleen Devine.
Visitation for Mary will be held on Friday, January 12, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling.
