Mary Crabtree (Werenchuk), 91, of North Andover, passed away on November 11, 2017, surrounded by her devoted family at the Sutton Hill Center.
Mary was born on May 9, 1926, to her hard-working parents, Peter and Mary (Petrusyk) Werenchuk, in Methuen, Mass. A lifelong resident of North Andover, she attended Johnson High School in North Andover graduating with the Class of 1944. Mary married her high school sweetheart in a simple ceremony on February 23, 1947, at the North Parish Church of North Andover. She worked for many years at Honeywell until her retirement. Mary was a kindhearted and selfless woman, who enjoyed many activities. She loved to sew, play golf and was very well travelled. As the cherished matriarch of her family, Mary touched many lives in many different circles and will fondly be remembered, cherished, and missed.
Mary was the beloved mother to her three sons; her son, William P. Crabtree and his wife, Lydia, and her son, Steven T. Crabtree and his wife, Jean, both of North Andover, and her son, the late Mark Crabtree and his wife, Vee, of Graniteville, S.C. She was the proud grandmother to her 11 grandchildren, Len, Jill, TJ, Emily, Bryan, Alli, Steph, Leah, Eric, Marco, and Jack. Mary was also the cherished great-grandmother to her five great-grandchildren, Mollie, Megan, Sydney, Isabel and Winthrop. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Crabtree, with whom she celebrated 47 years of marriage until his passing in 1994.
