HAVERHILL - Mary E. "Edna" (Clohecy) Davis, 97, passed away peacefully on January 30, at Penacook Place, Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill, on July 30, 1920, daughter of the late William H. and Celena (St. Lawrence) Clohecy.
Mary was educated in the Haverhill School System. She was employed as a layout operator at Western Electric for 26 years, before retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Mary was well known as the cake lady, making beautiful special occasion and wedding cakes. Mary was an avid gardener, and adored her pets. Mary and her husband Bob enjoyed traveling on cruise vacations, and had many happy retirement years living in Florida.
She was the wife of the late Robert W. Davis, who passed away in 1993, step-mother of the late Robert Jeffrey Davis, and the late Gregory C. Davis. Mary was predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Clohecy, and her sisters Claire Davis, and Eileen Law. Mary is survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff at Penacook Place for their outstanding caregiving and compassion.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Wednesday, February 7, from 10 to 10:45 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Penacook Place Employee Fund, 150 Water St. Haverhill, MA 01830, or to Beacon Hospice Amedisys Foundation, 290 Merrimack St. Lawrence, MA 01843.
