Mary's Story

METHUEN, MA - Mary S. (Gucciardi) DeBurro, age 84, of Methuen, passed peacefully away on March 4, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born in Lawrence on April 14, 1933, to the late Leo and Frances (Caruso) Gucciardi. She was a graduate of both North Andover High School, class of 1951 and Merrimack College Business School. Mary enjoyed country line dancing, Zumba, gardening, cooking, baking, bowling, and trips to the beach. Mary met the love of her life, the late Richard DeBurro at the Hampton Beach Casino, and the two were married on April 26, 1959, at Holy Rosary Parish. She will be remembered as a very selfless person who always embraced her family and friends. Mary was a former Masonic Sister for the Masonic Eastern Star Fraternal Organization of Methuen. She considered her dogs to be her own children and enjoyed going to church with friends.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Richard DeBurro with whom she shared 25 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Pamela Lee of Methuen, and David DeBurro of Lawrence. Mary was the loving grandmother of Bridgitt Lee. She was the dear sister of Lucy Lyford of Bow, N.H., and Jessie Comolli of Dover, N.H.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Monday, March 12, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi-Holy Rosary Parish of Lawrence. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
