Mary "May"'s Story
BRENTWOOD, NH - Mary "May" J. Harriman, 91, died peacefully on January 7, 2018, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, N.H., surrounded by her family. She was born on February 3, 1926, in Charlestown, Mass., the daughter of the late Howard and Mary (McCarthy) Gould.
She grew up in Malden, Mass., and later moved to Newton, N.H., and was a graduate of Sanborn Seminary in Kingston, N.H. After the war in 1948, she married Charles H. Harriman, moved to Amesbury, Mass., and raised five children. She made several trips to Ireland and was proud of her Irish Heritage enjoying music and dance. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband and two sons, Charles Harriman and Richard Harriman. She is survived by her daughter, Jill Bourdelais of Epping, N.H.; two sons, Shawn Harriman of Kingston, N.H., and Joseph Harriman of Tampa, Fla.; her sister, Patricia Estabrook of Newton, N.H.; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, NH. Burial will be held in Union Cemetery in Newton, N.H., in the spring. Brewitt Funeral Service, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH, is handling the arrangements.
