MaryAnne (Carney) McGurn

MaryAnne (Carney) McGurn Methuen - MaryAnne (Carney) McGurn, age 94 of Methuen passed away on November 30, 2018. MaryAnne was born in Methuen on September 17, 1924 to the late James and Anna (Connelly) Carney. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy in Lawrence and attended Boston University where she received her secretarial degree. MaryAnne was an executive assistant for the CEO of Standex for 38 years. She was a member of the Methuen Civic Club and a member of St. Monica’s Sodality. MaryAnne enjoyed skiing, golfing, reading and spending time with her family, especially at Seabrook Beach. She had a “million” friends and will be missed by all of them.

MaryAnne was the beloved wife of the late William McGurn with whom she shared 71 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Scott McGurn and his wife Katie of Methuen, and Anne Drouin and her husband Michael of Haverhill. MaryAnne was the loving grandmother of Patrick Drouin. She was the dear sister of Claire Lefaffre of Methuen, and James Carney of Methuen. MaryAnne is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her nieces, Kathleen and Colleen Carney.

Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica’s Parish of Methuen. Internment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell Street, Methuen.
