ANDOVER, MA - Mathew (Ben) Bajek, 93, of Andover, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Mass. He was born on October 8, 1924, in Enfield, Conn., to the late Lawrence and Mary Bajek. After graduation from Enfield High School, Ben proudly served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during WWII .
He was employed at Bigelow Sanford Carpet Company and Faber's World of Carpet. He was an Andover resident for 54 years, and was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church.
Ben was an avid sports fan, loved all Boston Teams, and never missed a game.
He is survived by his wife, Roslyn Furey Bajek; and their three children, Charlyce Mandat, and her husband, René, of Cooper City, Fla., Holly D'Errico, and her husband, Paul, of Londonderry, N.H.,. Thomas, and his wife, Linda, of Londonderry, N.H. He was very proud of his grandchildren who called him Pop, Justin D'Errico, Jenna Rose D'Errico, TJ Bajek, and Timothy Bajek, all of Londonderry, N.H. He also leaves a sister, Amy Zenczak, of Suffield, Conn.; and a brother, Edmund, of Enfield, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first and beloved grandson, Mathew Mandat; and sisters, Helen, Sophie, and Ann; and brothers, Andrew, and Chester.
All services are private at the request of the family. Conte Funeral Home in Andover is in charge of the arrangements.
