Nancy J. (Welford) Paradis, 83, a former resident of East Broadway in Haverhill and Ridgewood Drive in Atkinson, died peacefully on January 4, 2018 at Penacook Place in Haverhill.
Born, raised and educated in Haverhill, daughter of the late Matthew and Elizabeth (Luce) Welford, she was a member of the Haverhill High School Class of 1952 where she was a majorette for the high school band. She graduated in 1955 from the New England Deaconess School of Nursing in Boston and was active in the Alumni Association.
Mrs. Paradis was employed as a Registered Nurse first with Clover Hill Hospital in Methuen and later for many years in several positions at the former Hale Hospital in Haverhill, retiring as the Charge Nurse of the Surgical Day Care Unit in 1995.
Predeceased by her husband of fifty-nine years, Kenneth Paradis in 2015, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael S. and Paula Paradis of Haverhill, two daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Richard Mizia of Havertown , PA, and Sandra and John Clyne of Islip Terrace, L.I., NY, her ten grandchildren, Kyle Paradis, Lucas Paradis, Aaron Paradis, Matthew Gardner, Mallory Mizia, Samantha Clyne, Jacqueline Clyne, Julie Clyne, Shelby Clyne and John Clyne, a sister-in-law, Janet Welford of Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Jack Welford.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Life Celebration to be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
