Patrick J.'s Story
Patrick J. Leavitt, 63, passed away October 22, 2017 at his home in Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late William J. and Alice (Johnston) Leavitt. Patrick was raised and educated in Haverhill, and was a graduate of Timberlane Regional High School in Plaistow, N.H., Class of 1972. He obtained his Associate degree in Political Science from Northern Essex Community College. Patrick served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. He was employed for many years at Raytheon and other defense contractors as an assembly technician. Patrick loved the night life and especially enjoyed dancing. Patrick will be remembered as a free spirit who traveled the world while in the Navy, including extended stays in Santa Barbara, Hawaii and Singapore, and always wanted to return to California. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Patrick is survived by his siblings, Sandra Grover of Haverhill; Michael J. Leavitt and his wife, Chris of Londonderry, N.H., Cynthia A. Croston of Raymond, N.H., Timothy W. Leavitt of Boca Raton, Fla., Daniel J. Leavitt and his wife, Denise of Salem, Virginia Mitchell and her husband Steve of Danville, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas M. Leavitt and sister, Shelley Simmons.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. Funeral services will begin on Friday, October 27 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill.
