SALEM, NH - Paul J. Balboni, 75, a resident of Salem, N.H., for 47 years, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Massachusetts General Hospital after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Peter and Angelina (Zirpolo) Balboni.
Paul was raised in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School. He worked in the insurance industry for over 50 years and was a partner at Roberts and Associates in Hanover, Mass. His family always came first and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved coaching Little League Baseball in Salem, N.H., and was an avid Patriots and Celtics fan. He always enjoyed helping and spending time with his customers, especially the early morning breakfast meetings. He was a passionate golfer who enjoyed the comradery of golf matches. Paul enjoyed going to the former Rockingham Park and Seabrook Greyhound Track.
Paul was predeceased by his brother, Robert Balboni.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elaine (Sampson) Balboni; children, Scott Balboni and his wife, Sandy of Centre Hall, Pa., and Kathleen Balboni of Salem, N.H.; and his grandchildren, Andrew "AJ" and Taylor Balboni, Hailee Wingard, Kael and Mia Cammarata.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, N.H. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Paul Balboni to Dr. Greg Cote's Sarcoma Research Fund at Massachusetts General Hospital.
