LAWRENCE, MA - Mr. Paul J. McGuire, a resident of Lawrence, and beloved husband of Claire B. (DesJardins) McGuire, passed away peacefully at the Lawrence General Hospital on Sunday, January 21, 2018. He was 88 years old.
Born in Berlin, New Hampshire, he was the beloved son of the late Hugh and Angelina (Rheault) McGuire. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. McGuire was a machine operator for many years working in the former Oxford Paper Mill in Lawrence, and Blyers Industries, in Wakefield. Paul was an early member of the Northeast Council of Skin Divers, comprised of the Lowell Underwater Explorers, and the Andover Sports Divers, as a early rescue diver. He enjoyed the outdoors, and was proud of his achievement of becoming an EMT for Blyers Industries late in his career. He loved being behind a camera, whether it be a film camera or a video camera. Mr. McGuire always loved large gatherings with family and friends. The holidays in particular were his favorite. Above all, Paul was a very devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

McGuire, of Shirley, Diane M., and her husband, Richard J. Dul, of Methuen, Russell D., and his wife, Christina McGuire, of Haverhill, Darlene A., and her husband, Brian E.
