I would like to thank a good friend of mine Jim Swan who interviewed my Father several times in regards to my Dad's experience while serving in the Pacific Campaign during WWII on 3 different Navy Carriers.

Jim's tribute to my Dad:

"A very brave light has gone out in Bristol, NH. Paul Paplaskas has crossed the bridge. A man who as a young aviation ordinance loader on the aircraft carrier USS Shamrock Bay was there and witnessed the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Your tour is over sailor. Put your oars up and rest my friend, we have the watch. We can never repay what we owe you and your generation."

Thanks Jim for those kind words in tribute to my Father. -Peter Paplaskas
