Peter Aziz

November 13, 1929 - December 04, 2018

Peter Aziz North Andover, MA - Peter Aziz, of North Andover, died peacefully on Dec 4, 2018 at 89. Peter was born in Lawrence and became a lifelong resident of North Andover when he was 4-years-old.
He attended Bradstreet School and Johnson High School. He recently celebrated his 70th class reunion which was the class of 1948. He met his wife Louise on a school bus and was married in 1952 and they had 6 children. He co-owned ABC Bus Company for many years, taught at Lawrence Auto School and continued to drive a school bus route until he was 81 years old.
Peter was a member of the Grange, Knights of Columbus and the Board of Trade, which he became President in 1980. He dedicated many years volunteering for the North Andover Senior Center and supported the Men’s Breakfast. He joined the NEET Program to drive seniors to medical appointment for almost 20 years. Both he and his wife were honored with the “The Citizens Who Care” award by the Rotary Club. He also received the Dove Award in 2001 to the state’s top volunteers. Peter continued to service the senior community as a member of the Council on Aging Board of Directors for several years.
His passions in life were gardening, camping, flea markets, and most of all his antique cars. He was a member of the North Shore Old Car Club for many years and loved to show his cars in competitions and parades. He attended car meets and cruise nights with many fun cars and show cars. He became a National Judge for the Ford Model A Club of America. Peter was known as the “Model A Doctor”. During his recent stay in hospice some of his final words were, “I’m on my way in a Model A”.
Peter is survived by his wife, Louise (Furnari) Aziz of North Andover for 66 years, his son Peter J. Aziz and his wife Dianne of Merrimac, MA and his son David Aziz and his wife Lisa of Northwood, NH. He is also survived by his four daughters Lisa Aziz of North Andover, Patricia Clark and her husband Michael of Londonderry, NH, Christine Tracy and her husband James of Bradford and his daughter Dawn Horan and her husband, David of Newton, NH. Among his survivors is his sister Vivian Aziz of North Andover and sister in law Sandra Cousins of Rowley. He is known as Papa by his grandchildren Candice Marlow and her husband, Andrew, Jenna Clark, Allison Clark, Kara Meads and her husband, Doug and Amanda Mahoney and her husband, Paul. His great grandchild includes Leo Mahoney. He will be missed by many relatives and dear friends.
In lieu of a wake or service, Peter wanted to be remembered as the essence of life. Peter endured many surgical procedures over the past 20 years and has gifted his body to UMass Medical School. His contribution educates physicians and provides better health for people of the future. This was his final wish and his way to thank the medical profession.
Donations can be made in his name at High Pointe House, Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill, MA, www.homehealthfoundation.org/about-high-pointe-house.

Louise, deepest sympathy for your loss. The last time we saw you and Peter was at Skips, it was my first ride in my ‘64 Falcon that Dad, Terry Sullivan, had left me. We reminisced about NSOCC friends and cars. What a great childhood your generation gave us kids!
Peter ride away in your Model A, maybe play a little fox and hounds with Terry! 🙏🏻💕

I remember going to many of car shows with my father and seeing Pete & 99% of the time Louise driving one of his awesome antique cars. I know Peter over the years helped my dad as well when he was purchasing an antique car with his knowledge and advise. We will surely miss seeing Pete at these car shows in the future. Our deepest condolences to the whole family, thoughts and prayers.

To the entire Aziz family from the Hamel family. Your dad was a great guy. I remember him driving his antique car with your mom and their royal waves from the car. Maybe he'll meet up with Gabby and my dad for some old townie talk. Thinking of you all. May he rest in peace. 🙏
