Rachela (Nicotra)'s Story
Rachela (Nicotra) LoFaro, 84, of Lawrence passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Biancavilla, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Rosario and Maria (Toscano) Nicotra.
Mrs. LoFaro was raised and educated in Sicily and settled in Lawrence in 1967. She was a seamstress and worked at Grieco Brothers for many years. She loved to sew, cook, and enjoyed large Sunday dinners with her family. Being surrounded by her children and grandchildren is what made her most happy. She was also a member of St. Rita's Sodality.
Mrs. LoFaro was predeceased by her beloved husband, Antonino LoFaro.
She is survived by her children, Piera "Patty" Wilson and her husband, David Wilson of Haverhill, Alfio LoFaro and his companion, Kimberly Matthes of Lawrence, and Rosario LoFaro and his fiancé, Nicolette Doucette of Wilmington; sister, Maria Motta of Methuen; brother, Luigi Nicotra of Pelham, N.H.; grandchildren, Ariana LoFaro, Nicholas and Adam Wilson, Thomas Grenier, and Antonino LoFaro. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family in Sicily. The family sends a special thank you to her caregivers, Ellisette and Yrania who gave her so much support and friendship.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, December 11, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence.
