Raymond E.'s Story
Raymond E. Pike, 78, of Raymond, N.H., passed away on September 10, 2017, at his home. He was born in Rochester, N.H., on April 14, 1939, son of Raymond E. and Margaret (Stanhope) Pike.
Raymond grew up in South Lawrence, Mass., and was a Lawrence High School graduate. He served two years with the Coast Guard and worked for many years with the Internal Revenue Service in Andover and Methuen, Mass. Raymond enjoyed hunting and was also an avid fisherman and a lifelong member of the Merrimack Valley Striper Club. He had numerous records for the Striped Bass he caught from the Merrimack River over the years.
He was a longtime member of the Cochichewick Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. in North Andover, was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and was a member of Bektash Shriners of NH in Concord, N.H. Raymond also held a lifetime membership at the Concordia Club in Methuen, Mass.
Raymond was predeceased by his son, David Pike in 1961. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol (Casey) Pike of Raymond, N.H.; daughters, Karen Carey and husband, Joseph of Haverhill, Mass., and Kimberly Garrity of Woburn, Mass.; sons, include Randall Pike and wife, Donna of Raymond, Maine, and Ryan Pike and fiancée, Cathy Shanteler of Pelham, N.H.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 14, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 2 Epping St., Raymond, NH.
Interment will be private at a later date in Milton Mills, N.H., at the family’s request.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
