Rev. Robert's Story
FRAMINGHAM, MA - Rev. Robert E. Graham, S.M., died Saturday, January 20, 2018, in Saint Patrick's Manor in Framingham. He was 96.
Fr. Graham was born October 29, 1921, in Peabody, a son of the late Hugh and Mary E. (Joyce) Graham. Raised and educated in Peabody, he graduated from Peabody High School in 1939. He then began studies at Maryvale Seminary, graduating in 1943, and Marist College and Seminary in Framingham where he completed his degree in Theological Studies in 1950 and lastly, Boston College in 1951.
He made is First Profession on September 8, 1944, in Staten Island, N.Y., and was ordained to the Priesthood on February 2, 1950, in Boston.
Assignments for Fr. Graham included St. Anne Parish in Peabody, Maryvale Seminary, Cathedral High School in Detroit, Mich., Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, Mich., Marist College and Seminary, where he served for many years as Chaplain for the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody, St. Anthony Parish in White River Junction, Vt., Sacred Heart Parish in Lawrence, and St. Joseph Parish in Haverhill.
He leaves nephews, cousins and his confrères in the Marist Community.
Family and friends will honor and remember Fr. Robert's life by gathering for calling hours on Tuesday, January 23, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in The Chapel of Saint Patrick Manor, 863 Central Street, Framingham, followed by his Funeral Mass being at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Haverhill.
