Reverend Stanley John's Story
Reverend Stanley John Kotce, 87, of North Andover, Mass., and Jacksonville, Fla., passed away August 17, 2017.
Born on Oct. 29, 1930, to Stanley and Elizabeth Kotce, he graduated from Lawrence High where he met and later married his wife, Freda Zappala in 1951. He graduated NH College with a BA in business. He owned and operated a nursing home with his wife and late sister, Arleen Grenier. He was a member of St. Michael’s Church and was a Scout Master for Troup 82 for many years.
Stanley had attended Chesterfield Seminary in Anderson, Ind., and was ordained a spiritualist minister in 1992. He served as pastor of the Swampscott Spiritualist Church and served as the president of the Board of the Methuen, Mass. church. He taught at the New Millennium church in Derry, N.H., and several other tri-state area churches, bringing the knowledge of spiritual gifts to many. He also taught at the Spiritual Lighthouse church when he relocated to Jacksonville, Fla.
Stanley was preceded in rapture by his wife, Freda and their sons, Stanley, Michael and Peter. Survivors include sons, Kenneth (Susan) and Christopher (Nerissa) as well as 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., North Andover, MA 01845. A funeral service will be on Thursday 10 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
