Richard "Dick"'s Story
Richard “Dick” Hart age 75 of Lawrence, died peacefully with his wife Donna by his side Sunday, Oct. 29th at Westford House in Westford.
Dick was born in Methuen, attended Lawrence High School and was a lifelong resident of South Lawrence.
Dick was an oil delivery driver for Alliance Oil and a proud member of Teamsters Local 25 in Chelsea. He was a member of the Lawrence Elks Lodge. He was a U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany from 1960-1964. He enjoyed golf, softball, and all Boston Sports teams. He was an avid reader, movie watcher, and music listener. Dick spent many years coaching baseball and hockey for both the South Lawrence West Little League and Lawrence Youth Hockey. He was passionate about youth sports and making opportunities for kids. Most of all he loved his grandchildren, Grampy never missed a performance or a game. He was always there with a quick joke or a simple pat on the back.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Mallon) Hart of Westford; children, Shaun and his wife, April Hart of Westford, Michael Hart of Westford, and Kathleen Hart of Lawrence; siblings, Robert Hart of Methuen, James Hart of Haverhill, and Evelyn Hart McAdams of Manteca, Calif.; grandchildren, Nolan and Summer Hart of Westford, several nieces and nephews.
Per Richard’s wishes a private memorial service will be held for the family and friends. There are no calling hours.
