Richard Neil's Story
Richard Neil Hogan, 72, of Kyle, Texas, formerly of Estero, Fla., and Stratham, N.H., passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017, in Kyle, Texas after a long illness.
He was born in Lawrence to the late Thomas B. and Florence E. (Wormwood) Hogan. He was also predeceased by a sister, Maureen P.; brothers, Thomas J., Michael F. and Kevin M.; and son-in-law, J.J. McCray.
Mr. Hogan was a graduate of St. Patrick's Grammar School and graduated in 1962 from Lawrence High School. Rick retired in 1998 after 32 years with Verizon. He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics, enjoyed golf, reading and crossword puzzles. Mr. Hogan was a member of the IBEW, BellTel Retirees and the Arlington Social Club.
Members of Mr. Hogan's family includes his wife of 45 years, Virginia (Graham) Hogan; daughters, Amy E. (Hogan) Aguirre and her husband, Rodrigo Aguirre of Buda, Texas; Katherine A. Hogan of Scottsdale, Ariz.; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Thomas J. (Lucille M. Bouchard) Hogan of Lawrence; as well as three grandchildren, Katherine I. Aguirre, Gabriella E. Aguirre, and Alexander R. Aguirre of Buda, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Saint Patrick's Church in Lawrence.
