North Andover, MA - Richard M. Rozzi, 76, of Haverhill, and formerly of North Andover, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019. He was born in Lawrence, Mass., on November 18, 1942, to the late Angelo and Anna (Palmegiano) Rozzi.

Dick was raised and educated in Lawrence, graduating from Central Catholic High School in 1960. He continued his education at Merrimack College and earned advanced degrees in education from Salem State College. He began his teaching career at St. Mary's of Cambridge and in 1967 began teaching science at North Andover High School. In 1985, Mr. Roz, as he was known to his students, became the Assistant Principal at North Andover High School, where he provided much support and guidance to many students throughout his career. Mr. Roz also coached football, baseball and track and was inducted into the Johnson/North Andover High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.

During the summers, Dick loved spending time at Salisbury Beach. From his days as a lifeguard and throughout his retirement, he loved sitting in the sun and visiting with his many guests.

He is survived by his sons Richard Rozzi of Beijing, China; Marc and his wife Kate and their children Anna, Julia and Megan; Christopher and his children Emma, Dante and Nico; Erik and his wife Nicole of Hudson, N.H., and their daughter Eliana, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his granddaughter Kayla Maureen Rozzi.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, May 10, 2019, from 3 to 7 p.m., at Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kayla Rozzi Scholarship Fund c/o Chris Rozzi, 13 Annis Street, North Andover, MA 01845.
