PLAISTOW, NH - Robert J. Ouellette, 79, a longtime resident of Plaistow and formerly of Haverhill, died December 19, 2017, with his family by his side, at Haverhill Crossings, following a long illness.
Born in Haverhill, son of the late Leonide and Lucy (Arel) Ouellette, he was a member of the Haverhill Trade School Class of 1956. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Yeoman 3rd Class from 1958 until 1960 and was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal.
Mr. Ouellette was employed for over 30 years at Western Electric, AT&T Technologies and Lucent Technologies, first as a tool and die maker and later as an engineer and programmer.
A longtime member of All Saints Parish and the former Saint Joseph Parish, he was a Friend of Bill and enjoyed walking, woodworking, carpentry and working around his home. Devoted to his precious grand-daughter, he was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, country music, and Louis Armstrong.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Theresa J. "Terry" (Lahaye) Ouellette; a son and daughter-in-law, John J. and Rebecca Ouellette of Plaistow; a daughter and daughter-in-law, Michelle J. Ouellette and Carole Phelan of Chester, Conn.; a brother, Paul Ouellette of Amesbury; a sister, Marie C. Lawson of Haverhill; a grandaughter, Dagny Jean Marie Ouellette; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Norman Ouellette.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday morning, December 26, 2017, from 9 a.m. until 12 Noon, at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH. His Funeral Service will follow at 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home and conclude with burial with Military Honors in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Haverhill.
