TOPSFIELD, MA, and EPPING, NH - Robert H. Webber, Sr., 70, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2018, with his devoted family at his side, after a lengthy struggle with cancer.
The son of Evelyn (Southwell) Webber and the late William Webber, Bob was born in Amesbury, Mass., on September 16, 1947. He attended Amesbury schools, and was a graduate of Amesbury High School, class of 1965. He furthered his education at Worcester Polytechnical Institute, and Merrimack College. With his love of Supermodified auto racing, Bob purchased Star Speedway in Epping, N.H., in 1980, and later purchased Hudson Speedway in Hudson, N.H., in 1989. He received much recognition, and many awards, from his auto racing peers. The highlight of Bob's life were his two grandchildren, Timmy and Jaime. Bob also enjoyed spending his winters in Aruba, where he was well known, and very active in the community. At Star Speedway and Hudson Speedway, Bob treated every racer as part of his extended family.
