Ronald J. "Ron"'s Story
Ronald J. “Ron” Goglia, 68, of Windham, N.H. and East Boston, Mass., died peacefully on July 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, after a five-year battle with prostate cancer.
Ron was born in Revere, Mass. to the late Margaret Rita (Frazier) Goglia, and John Goglia of East Boston. He was the loving husband to Karen M. (Leonard) Goglia of Malden, Mass. for 32 years. Ron also leaves behind his four children whom he adored, John A. Goglia, Danielle M. Goglia, and Michael J. Goglia, of Windham, N.H., and Stacie (Goglia) Constas, her husband, Steven; and two grandchildren, Steven and Jacob, of Dover, N.H. He is also survived by his brother, John J. Goglia of Saugus, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
Ron was a CPA. He received his undergraduate degree from Suffolk University, and Master of Taxation degree from Bentley College. He worked in public accounting at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells for several years, before he was recruited as personal tax adviser to the late Grant M. Wilson, a venture capitalist, for whom he worked for almost 30 years. Ron was professionally admired and respected by all who knew him. He was the patriarch of his extended family. To know him was to love him. He was an adventure seeker, avid sports fan, and avid skier. He was known as "Coach Ron" in the town of Windham because he volunteered so much of his time to coaching youth sports including baseball, softball, soccer, and football.
Ron was a humble man, with a presence that was larger than life. He was warm, welcoming, and generous to all who crossed his path. He had a wonderful sense of humor, contagious laugh, and mischievous spirit. Ron believed that "adventures" were greater than any material object. He will be remembered by his family for "making memories."
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Parish, 2 Searles Rd., Windham, NH. Cremation will follow. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, July 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Carrier Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 38 Range Rd., Windham, NH.
