LAWRENCE - Salvatore Maglia, 87, of Lawrence, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Lawrence General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born February 2, 1930, in Lawrence, son of the late Nunzio and Maria (Puglisi) Maglia.
Salvatore was educated in Lawrence and was employed with Raytheon Systems for many years before his retirement. After retiring, Salvatore kept active fishing, hunting and playing horseshoes. Later in life he would pass his time at Tripoli Bakery where he was loved by all the employees. He was a member of the Montauk Social Club in Lawrence.
Salvatore was predeceased by his brothers, Thomas, Angelo and Carmello; and his sisters, Catherine Lucinskas and Josephine Jennings.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to a charity of choice.
