GROVELAND, MA - Sandra Larsen, 83, of Groveland, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday morning, March 7, 2018, in her home. She was born February 11, 1935, in Medford, Mass., the daughter of Frank and Irene (Rood) Deery. She graduated from Scarborough High School and shortly after married Donald Larsen on June 4, 1955. Sandy was a very hard worker and a dedicated mother. She had several jobs throughout her life to help support the family from working at Western Electric, driving the local school bus and running a small catering business with her good friend, Sandy Daniels. Later in life, she volunteered at the Groveland Congregational Church, participating in "Faith Circle" and spent a great deal of time with her grandchildren. Sandy was incredibly talented, often making and mending clothes for her loved ones, handcrafting quilts and braided rugs, and knitting afghans and Christmas stockings for every member of the family. She moved to Groveland in 1967 with her husband of 55 years. Together they made many happy memories. Sandy leaves her son, Scott Larsen and his wife, Judi of Georgetown; daughter, Lori and her partner, Paul Castellano of Haverhill; son, Keith and his wife, StarrAnn of Danville, N.H.; daughter, Lisa and her husband, Phil Wright of Groveland; 11 adoring grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; as well as her dear friend of many years, Bud Kallman. She was predeceaseed by her loving husband, Don Larsen; daughter, Bonny Larsen-McInnes; and brother, Dick Deery. Her love and laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The memorial service will take place at Groveland Congregational Church, 4 King St., Groveland, at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018.
