Saveria "Sally"'s Story
BRADFORD - Saveria R. "Sally" (Juliano) Catanzaro, 96, of Bradford, died Sunday morning, January 28.
She was born in Haverhill, May 22, 1921, daughter of the late Pasquale and Josephine (Fazzio) Juliano.
Educated in the Haverhill school system, Sally graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1940, and the former Clinton School of Nursing in 1942.
During World War II, she served in the United States Army Nurses Corp., and served in Europe mainly with the 79th Field Hospital.
Upon being honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant, Sally continued her nursing career at the former Hale Hospital, as well as in various local nursing homes, and performing private-duty nursing.
She was a longtime member of Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford, and the Haverhill Nurses Association.
She was the wife of the late Frank E. Catanzaro, who died in 1989; and sister of the late Joseph Juliano.
Her survivors include two daughters, Lois Catanzaro, of Delray Beach, Fla., Cheryl Catanzaro, of Haverhill; a sister, Patricia McCarron, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Friday morning, February 2, from 11 to 12 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St., Bradford, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 in Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel at Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Interment with military honors will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
