Shirley (Eastman) Hebb, 86, of Boxford, passed away peacefully January 15th with loved ones beside her.
Raised in Haverhill, Shirley moved to West Boxford on her marriage to Robert Edmund Hebb and raised a family of whom she was so proud. In recent weeks, she told us that she knew she "had done what she was supposed to do - when she saw her children and grandchildren who were strong and independent, but especially that they loved and supported one another." She leaves behind her sons, Michael, Richard, Francis (Mary Ann) and Robert L. (Sherrin), and daughters, Kathleen Keenan (Jim), Claire Egan, and Rebecca Cottrell (Jon), 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brother, Robert F. Eastman and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and her sister Evelyn Sargent. Shirley loved many things in life, but most importantly her family and friends. She could be found holding a baby, reading a book to a child, or enjoying a cup of tea in one of the small local shops with friends. In recent years, she took great pleasure in the birds in her feeders, baking a favorite cookie for a grandchild, and reading. She loved the spring and seeing the gardens come to life. She is sadly missed and will always be remembered for her love and strength.
