Sister Joan Therese's Story
(Therese Dorothy) of Mt. St. Vincent, Wellesley Hills, passed away on August 5, 2017. She was a Sister of Charity for 72 years who was missioned in Brooklyn and Jamaica, N.Y,, New Waterford and Ingonish Beach, Nova Scotia; and locally at St. Peter's, Dorchester; St. Patrick's, Roxbury; Elizabeth Seton Asian Center, Lawrence; and Academy of the Assumption and Mt. St. Vincent, Wellesley. She was the beloved daughter of the late William and Henrietta (Newell) Dawson; and sister of Joan Joaquin and Jean Conery, the late Joseph, William and Paul Dawson. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as all her sisters in community.
Visiting hours at Mt. St. Vincent, 125 Oakland St., Wellesley Hills, on Wednesday, August 9, from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. with a prayer service at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:45 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of Charity, Mt. St. Vincent Community, 125 Oakland St., Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.
