Theodore "Ted"'s Story

Theodore (Ted) LaFrance, 93 of Salem, N.H., passed away on July 26, 2017 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
Ted was born on June 26, 1924 in Lawrence, and grew up in North Andover. He enlisted with the Navy immediately after Pearl Harbor, and served during WWII and North Korea. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
He married "The Love of His Life" Annette Jean Blezinski, and the two were married for 68 years. His beloved wife passed away in 2012.
They had six children, John LaFrance and his wife, Kathy, Robert LaFrance and his wife, Susan, Keith LaFrance and his wife Denise, Kevin LaFrance and his wife Cynthia, Sharon LaFrance and Cathy Lyle. Ted was the grandfather to eight children, and great-grandfather to 10 children.
He worked for Avco most of his career as a machinist, and later on for the government as an assistant engineer. After retiring he volunteered preparing tax returns for the elderly. His favorite pastimes were spent hunting and fishing.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079.
