SALEM, NH - Mrs. Thomai (Fassas) Sinopoulos, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2018, at the Salem Haven Nursing Facility.
Thomai was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on August 31, 1925, a daughter of immigrant parents from Greece, the late Anastasios and Soultana (Gakis) Fassas. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexandros Sinopoulos.
She was a graduate of UNH and Rivier College. Thomai taught high school chemistry in Reading, Michigan, and then was a science teacher for the Nashua, N.H. school system for many years.
Thomai was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, in Lowell. A special thank you to the caring staff of Salem Haven Nursing Facility for their excellent care and attention that was given to Thomai during her stay. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Thomai was predeceased by her brothers, Demetrios, and Achillias Fassas.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Tarcy J. Fassas, John A. Fassas, Alex Fassas, Thomas Fassas, Karen Fassas, Margaret Pahigian, Kathleen Gabriel, Evelyn Massie; and special cousins, John, and Maria Gakis.
Relatives and friends are invited to her calling hours on Thursday, February 1, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., in Lowell, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Gibson Cemetery in Pelham, N.H.
