METHUEN - Thomas N. Bistany passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Holy Family Hospital after a 10-year battle with Parkinson's Disease. Thomas was born in Lawrence, the son of Namaan Bistany and his wife Martha (Hashem) Bistany. He moved to Lebanon, where he was educated, before returning to Lawrence, where he met and married the girl of his dreams, Juliet Williams. Together they shared 59 years of marriage. Thomas was a leading hairstylist, working at Filene's in Boston and Chestnut Hill, and later opening Chez Thomas and Hair for Men and Women. Thomas and Juliet enjoyed traveling to many countries and brought their children across the United States driving to Alaska. Thomas was a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony Maronite Church and the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Gaythorne Council #4027 in Methuen, Lawrence B.P.O.E. Elks and the Massachusetts Cosmetologist Assoc. Thomas was a strong man of tender heart, who will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered. Thomas is survived by his wife Juliet (Williams) Bistany. Four loving daughters, Jayne Korzeb, Carolyn and her husband, Dennis Mercier, Maria Patenaude, Christia Bistany and her fiancé Jeff Bean; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his sister, Lena Bistany-Nye; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother George, and sister Lena, who passed away when they were children.
A funeral liturgy will be offered, Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Maronite Church, in Lawrence. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Methuen. Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Anthony Maronite Church, 145 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA 01841, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
