Thomas E.'s Story
Our father was born in East Boston, Mass. He graduated from Boston Latin Academy and furthered his education earning a B.S. and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Mass. He spent his career working for Alcatel-Lucent and retired from there as a Senior Staff engineer who oversaw the production of printed wiring boards. He sat at the helm of the Little League Association when his sons were of age to participate. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at the Andover Chapter and was a Deacon at the First Congregatioal Church in Andover. He was a longtime member of the Andover Sportsmen's Club which allowed him to pursue his most treasured hobby of hunting He went to Tanzania and later on went to Zambia to pursue big game. He was an extremely intelligent man who was very well read and greatly enjoyed Opera and his season tickets to the BSO. He also held a lifetime membership at the MFA. He loved his wife and family deeply. He passed his work ethic, sense of humor, generosity, and enormous sense of loyalty to them. He was a strong man with a strong will and achieved incredible success in his lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents, William King and wife, Margaret (Hartt); his brother, William King; his youngest son, Michael A. King; and his daughter-in-law, Susan L. King (Chouinard). He is survived by his eldest son, Thomas E. King Jr. and wife, Colleen (Burke); son, Daniel E. King and wife, Brenda (St.Germain); daughter, Leslie King Peterson and husband, Carl. He also is survived by seven beloved grandchildren and three precious great-grandchildren.
Burial service will be Monday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. at the West Parish Cemetery, 129 Reservation Road, Andover, MA 01810.
