Timothy J. Kelleher

Byfield, MA - Tim Kelleher was a friend to all. He treated everyone with the deepest kindness and warmth - whether we were his brothers, his precious daughters, a beloved pet, his neighbor, an employee of Kelleher Painting & Wallcovering, or someone whose house he was painting.
Tim had the grandest laugh and a gift for storytelling. He was also a gracious listener and as such a receiver of many stories. He had an intuitive understanding of people and always knew when someone needed to talk. He was eager to engage with people no matter who they were or where they came from. If he met you, he wanted to know your story: where you had lived, what you cared about, what your kids' names were.
Tim's mind was as open as his big heart. He held a Ph.D. in NPR, which he listened to every day in his work truck. He loved reading and talking about politics and taught his daughters that you can both love a country like America and hold it accountable when it falls short of its promise. He believed deeply in the equal dignity of all people.
Tim remained bright to his last breath. He was glad for his life his entire life and lived by his late mother Helen's frequent saying, "every day is a bonus!"
Tim, you leave behind many who will carry your memory to our own last breaths. Your daughters, Lauren and Mackenzie Kelleher, and their fiancés Steve Goldstein and Tyler Rafeldt; your loyal former wife, Jill Porter, and mother-in-law Joyce Mrazik; your brothers, Hugh, Neil, Gavin, David, Mark, and Charlie and sisters-in-law, Debbie, Linda, Heidi, Terry, and Phoebe; many nieces and nephews; your devoted employees Arthur Vignault and Carlos Cirelli; and countless friends, neighbors, customers, and anyone else lucky enough to meet you once or know you for years. All know what a good life and exceptional example you gave us. You left us so many good things and your memory will be a blessing. Peace and love, Tim.
A celebration of Tim's life will be held at the First Religious Society at 26 Pleasant Street in Newburyport on Saturday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Family Services of the Merrimack Valley where Tim spent a lot of time with his good friend Kelvin Gonzalez in the Big Friends, Little Friends program. Donations can be made online and in Tim's memory at http://www.fsmv.org/home/make-an-impact/.

My heart is broken that is all I can say. My dear friend Tim is gone. I know what he meant to our family - he was just a great friend. Irreplaceable. Now a huge void. I just loved listening to him talk and laugh with my husband - and with Matthew when he was home - just about so many different topics - politics, work, antiques, music, the world- everything and anything - it just breaks my heart there will be no more Tim in our kitchen shooting the breeze. What a tremendous loss for Tim's family. He sure left the world surrounded by love - I will never forget a friend like Tim. He just was very, very special and dear to me.

Many good memories with Tim on Federal Street, and, then on Water Street with my bf Karen. Shocked too have heard that Tim had passed. Way too young for a traveling soul.
Truly sorry for the heartbreak that the Family feels right now.

Many great memories of time spent with Tim - ski trip to Mount Snow, summers in Kezar Falls, and hitch-hiking to the movies in Plaistow (we ended up walking the whole way). Miss you cuz!
