PEMBROKE, NH - Vincent Frances Callahan, 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Concord Hospice House in Concord, N.H., following a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet (McKeon) Callahan; his oldest son, Michael Callahan and his wife, Julie; his daughter, Kelly-Marie Sbuttoni and her husband, Michael; his youngest son, Kevin Callahan and his wife, Stephanie. He also leaves five grandchildren, Michael Joe, Ella, Finnegan, Abby and Donovan.
Born in Ireland, son of Michael and Mary Callahan he lived there until he was four years old then moved to England where he spent most of his childhood until moving to Cambridge, Mass., when he was 16 years old. He was one of 11 children. He is survived by two brothers, Raymond and Desi Callahan; and three sisters, Rosie Draper, Violet Sullivan and Bernie Quinlan; along with numerous nieces, and nephews.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving his country from October 1956 to October 1958. He was a longtime warehouse manager at Sears and Roebucks. He worked at Westville Homes on Plaistow, N.H., where he learned to drywall and then started his own business called Vincent's Drywall.
He was a loving husband, father, Papa, and friend and he will truly be missed.
A memorial visiting hour will be held on Saturday, January 27, from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.
A memorial service will follow at 12 Noon in the chapel of the Waters Funeral Home.
