Wayne A.'s Story
Wayne A. Simeone passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017, following a long battle with cancer.
Wayne was born in Lawrence, Mass., on March 8, 1948, to the late Paul and Madeleine (Kimball) Simeone. He was brought up in Andover and graduated from Andover High School with the class of 1966. In 1969, he moved to Tempe, Ariz., and attended Arizona State University where he earned a BS degree in business management with a specialization in marketing. He graduated with the class of 1973. For the majority of Wayne’s business career he worked for Design Space International, a Gelco Company and Spacemaster International in the modular building industry. He earned numerous sales and customer service awards while working with these companies. He retired in 2012 and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Wayne leaves behind brother–in–law, Daniel Takesian of North Andover and his significant other, Kathleen Dreisel; his niece, Lori (Takesian) DeBernardo and her husband, Nick of Andover and their children, Jared, James and Nicole; and his nephew, Paul D. Takesian, his wife, Heather of North Andover and their sons, Troy and Paul Jr. Wayne also leaves behind his best friend, Cecelia Barber of Tempe, Ariz., along with many cousins, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved sister, Joan Ellen (Simeone) Takesian.
Wayne loved to take trips back east to spend time with his family and especially playing with his grand-niece and nephews at Seabrook Beach, N.H. He enjoyed listening to smooth jazz, long walks in the sand, tinkering with things and was an avid New England sports team fan.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence St., Andover, MA 01810. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery, Andover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Wayne’s memory can be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
